John Hatley, Americas Vice President Ship Power for Wartsila North America, has over 30 years of combined marine experience spanning business development, project management of domestic and overseas vessel construction, owner's representation, ship operations, and vessel design. Prior to joining Wartsila he held positions with General Electric, Marine Industries Northwest, First American Bulk Carriers, John J. McMullen Naval Architects, US Lines, and Trinidad Tankers. His decade of deep sea experience culminated with two years afloat as Chief Engineer. He is a licensed Professional Engineer in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering. Mr. Hatley is a graduate of 3 schools; he hold's a Bachelor's degree from United States Merchant Marine Academy Kings Point, a Masters in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering from the University of Michigan, and recently completed the Executive MBA program at the University of Washington. He was the Recipient of the celebrated 2008 Admiral McCready Award for Outstanding Achievement in Marine Engineering.
