Dr. Panos E. Cavoulacos is the Chief Executive Officer of Hellenic Petroleum
S.A. and a member of the group's Board of Directors.
A native of Athens, Greece, Dr. Cavoulacos holds B.S. and M.S. degrees in Nuclear Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, an M.B.A. from M.I.T.'s Sloan School of Management, and a Ph.D. in Energy Economics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
Dr. Cavoulacos is an energy specialist and has advised oil, gas and electricity companies in Europe, North and South America and the Middle East on strategy, organization and performance improvement issues. His expertise covers the upstream, refining and fuels marketing, midstream gas, power generation and energy trading.
He joined Hellenic Petroleum in July 2004 from Charles River Associates, where he was a London-based Officer in the Oil & Gas Sector. Prior to that, he was a Paris-based Partner in the Energy Practice of Booz Allen Hamilton, responsible for the Southern European energy business and Managing Partner of the Paris office (2000-03). He has also held senior management positions at General Electric's Industrial and Power Systems and at McKinsey & Company.
Dr. Cavoulacos is a member of the Board of Directors of the Federation of Greek Industries, represents Hellenic Petroleum on EUROPIA's Board of Directors, is a member of the American Hellenic Chamber of Commerce and a member of the Board of Directors of EKO ABEE.
Dr. Cavoulacos is married with three children and is trilingual in English, French and Greek.
