Panagiotis Papastavrou
Chairman of the Board of Directors, HEPO
Mr. Panagiotis Papastavrou is, as of 2000, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Hellenic Foreign Trade Board - HEPO. He is also since 2000 Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of M. Levis (Linguaphone).
Form 1996 to 1999 he served as CEO of Royal Olympic Cruises, while before that (1991-96) he served as Managing Director and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the porcelain table manufacturer, Ionia SA. From 1987 to 1990, he was the Managing Director of Athens Pipe Works SA and from 1985 to 1987 the Managing Director of Hermes (Olivetti Subsidiary), Belgium. From 1974 to 1985 he worked for Rank Xerox, first in Greece (1974-82) as Managing Director and Chairman of the Board and then in South Africa as Managing Director. Prior to that, he worked at Bull General Electric/Honeywell Bull, Greece as Sales Engineer, Sales Manager and Marketing Manager (1962-74).
He holds an MSc in Mechanical, Electrical and Naval Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens and is fluent in English and French.
He is a member of the National Council of SMEs, of the National Council for Competitiveness and Development and of the Board of Directors of the Export Credit Insurance Organization.
