Proton Bank

PROTON BANK was established in 2001 and officially commenced its operations as a specialised investment bank in 2002. The founders of the bank are the late John Markopoulos, and Messrs Anthony Athanassoglou and Elias Lianos. Following a rapid development path, the Bank was listed on the Athens Stock Exchange in December 2005 and later absorbed three listed closed-end funds, namely Arrow, Exelixi and Eurodynamics. In 2006 PROTON BANK absorbed OMEGA Bank, with the new entity's share capital reaching € 350 mil.

While maintaining Investment Banking focus, PROTON BANK dynamically expands its commercial banking business and currently offers the entire spectrum of financial services, investment banking, commercial banking, asset & wealth management, brokerage services, insurance and leasing.

The client base of PROTON BANK consists of private and corporate clients, together with private and institutional investors who seek a flexible and value added solutions provider, capable of structuring and executing both customised and tailor-made innovative products and services.

PROTON's target is the position of a niche market leader. It complements the local financial services industry, relying on innovative technology, in order to provide quality financial products and services, in line with international market practices and standards.
