Sal. Oppenheim: A Leading European Private Bank

Sal. Oppenheim, a family owned company since 1789, is the leading independent private bank in Europe. We offer institutional, private clients wealth management and investment banking services. In 2007, we relocated the Group's headquarters to Luxembourg to better to serve the increasingly international client base. Our 3,800 highly qualified professionals across a network of 30 offices in 12 countries help manage more than €148 bn in client assets.

Wealth Management

The Wealth Management division has more than 900 private banking professionals providing asset management and private banking services. Sal. Oppenheim's Asset Management provides high quality and tailored solutions for its institutional and private clients. The comprehensive asset approach takes into consideration the effective combination of different asset classes. In addition to offering our services in capital markets, Sal. Oppenheim has extensive expertise in real estate and equity investments.

More than 4,000 of the world's most affluent investors use Sal Oppenheim Private Banking Services. Our Private Banking approach is built around the concept of quantitatively-based dynamic asset allocation process which focuses on both in-house and the best externally developed products. As an integrated component of Private Banking, the family office emphasises unbiased, independent recommendations tailored to individual clients' needs. Sal. Oppenheim successfully expanded its advice and support offering for international families through Services Généraux de Gestion S.A. (SGG), Luxembourg. SGG focuses on family structures in the Benelux countries, Switzerland, France, and southern Europe.

In 2007 Sal. Oppenheim expanded its Private Banking coverage to Greece, serving several of the wealthiest Greek families with a dedicated team of senior Private Bankers out of Luxembourg and Switzerland.

Investment Banking

Sal. Oppenheim's Investment Banking Group combines the Corporate Finance and Financial Markets activities of more than 900 employees dedicated to equity and derivative products.

In Mergers and Acquisitions, Sal. Oppenheim has established a successful franchise in the German speaking countries, offering its broad range of advisory services to publicly listed companies, small and medium-sized private enterprises, institutional investors, private equity firms and the public sector. The Bank is focusing on expanding its partner network with cooperation agreement in the financial hubs of New York and Paris, but also the Southern European markets.

In Equity Capital Markets, Sal. Oppenheim is strongly positioned in the German-speaking capital markets with the ability to complete transactions of over € 1bn.

The Institutional Equity Services division provides investment services to more than 400 institutional investors in 20 countries. In the past year, the division completed 255 analyst and 247 company road shows worldwide and executed 35 placement mandates (IPOs, capital increases and share buy-backs). In addition to Germany, Switzerland and Austria, Sal. Oppenheim extended its regional coverage in 2000 to include Greece as core market.

Sal. Oppenheim equity analysts every year meet more than 60 private companies during research field trips where uncover investment opportunity for our clients. They focus on family owned companies mainly from the healthcare, infrastructure, steel and retail sector expanding into the wider area of Southern Europe

Sal. Oppenheim strategy foresees a leading position in the Greek capital market and resulted in recent years in on complex equity and advisory transactions which included a lead manager role for secondary placement of Neochimiki S.A., Lamda Detergent S.A., Sprider Stores S.A., Metka S.A., and Kalpinis-Simos Steel Products S.A.

Most recently, Sal. Oppenheim acted as global coordinator and joint bookrunner in the biggest ever capital increase in Greece outside the financial sector of ALAPIS S.A., with a volume of € 817m.
