Panayotis Athanasoglou
Senior Economist of the Bank of Greece & Member of the Board of Directors, Invest in Greece Agency
Panayotis Athanasoglou has served on the Board of Directors of the Athens Stock Exchange. He has also served as a member of the Hellenic Competition Commission and the Committee (of the Ministry of Economy and Finance) for the encouragement and reciprocal protection of investments between Greece and other countries (participating in bilateral negotiations and a number of other countries, mainly in Central and Eastern Europe. Prior to joining the Bank of Greece, he worked in the private sector (as a sales and financial manager).
He has specialized in international finance, international trade and macroeconomic theory and policy at Sussex University in UK (D.Phil. in Economics), University of Oklahoma in USA (M.A. in Economics), Athens University of Economics and Business (Diploma in Business Administration) and University of Piraeus (B.A. in Economics). He has also taught at Universities in USA, UK and Greece.
He is the author of monographs, articles and books in his area of specialization.
He speaks English and French.
