Vasileios Neiadas
Greek National Gaming Commission

Vasileios Neiadas graduated from the Athens University of Economics and holds a Master Degree in Business Administration from Boston University.

He worked for 20 years in the Pharmaceutical and Cosmetics industry, first as General Manager of the family owned company "B.Neiadas and Sons SA", then as Chief Executive Officer for "R & N Pharmaceuticals SA" and finally as Business Development Director for "REMEK SA". He specialized in issues such as Productivity, Business Strategy, Financial Analysis, Exports etc.

In September 2001, he accepted the proposal of the Organizing Committee for the Olympic Games ATHENS 2004, to become General Manager of the Games Services Division (Accommodation, Accreditation, Health Services, Doping Control, Food and Press Services). Before and during the Games, as Member of the Main Operations Team, he was responsible for the successful implementation of all operational plans related to accommodation (hotels, cruise ships, residential accommodation etc).

In March 2005, he was appointed by the Greek government as Chief Executive Officer of OPAP S.A., the Greek State Lottery. Three years later, OPAP ranked as the #4 Gaming Operator worldwide, with a USD 11 billion capitalization, annual sales of USD 6.96 billion and profits before tax USD 1.17 billion. The PAME STIHIMA fixed-odds sports betting and the OPAP KINO games, are by far the most succesful games in the world (their combined sales exceeded 5 billion USD, in a country of 10.7 million people, with no internet, phone or interactive TV remote betting permitted).

In April 2008, he was appointed as member of the Greek National Gaming Commission, under the direct supervision of the Minister of Finance. The Committee controls all existing gaming and betting operations in Greece (Lotteries, Sports Betting, Horse racing, Scratch tickets, Casinos) and lisences all new types of games and new betting operation channels.

He has rich experience in finance and is a qualified tax consultant (Financial Chamber).

From 2006-2007, he served as an elected member of the General Board of the Hellenic Industrialists' Association.

In November 2006, during the General Assembly of the World Lottery Association, he was elected member of its Board of Directors.

As of July 2007, he is also member of the Board of Directors of the American-Hellenic Chamber of Commerce.

He is fluent in English and French.

Vasileios Neiadas was born in 1955 and is married with two children.
