LEADING GREEK FRANCHISE
Merrill Lynch has a long-standing presence in the Greek market, primarily through Private Clients and Investment Banking services. Merrill Lynch is also a remote member of the Athens Exchange since December 2007.

On the Investment Banking front, Merrill Lynch has enjoyed a very successful run, having advised on several landmark advisory as well as equity and debt offering transactions over the last three years.

Most recently, Merrill Lynch acted as Sole Global Coordinator and Joint Bookrunner on the €300m rights issue by Forthnet and Sole Financial Advisor on Forthnet's acquisition of NetMed for €490m (August 2008). In addition, Merrill Lynch acted as Joint Bookrunner on the €573m Subordinated Convertible Bonds Offering by the Bank of Cyprus (July 2008).

Merrill Lynch has also acted as:
Sole Structuring Advisor and Joint Bookrunner in NBG's Inaugural US$625 million QDI retail Tier 1 capital offering (June 2008);
Joint Bookrunner and Lead Structuring Agent on Safebulkers' $190m IPO (May 2008);
Joint Bookrunner of OTE's 3yr and 7yr dual tranche senior fixed rate notes (February 2008);
Sole Financial Advisor to OTE for its €2.9bn buy-in of minority interests in Cosmote (November 2007);
Joint Global Coordinator and Bookrunner on the €5.2bn rights issue by Marfin Investment Group (July 2007);
Joint Bookrunner on OTE's 1.1bn AGT (June 2007);
Joint Bookrunner on Navios Maritime's $200m IPO (November 2007).
