Guy Verberne
Head of Economic Research, Fortis Merchant Banking
Guy Verberne studied economics at Erasmus University Rotterdam. From 1989 to 1993, he was employed at the Treasury of the Dutch Ministry of Finance as an advisor on macro-economic and budgetary policy. He then joined MeesPierson Capital Management N.V., where he worked as a senior portfolio manager on the fixed-income team. In August 1997 he became Chief Economist at MeesPierson Investment Bank. As Head of Economic Research of Fortis Merchant Banking - based in Amsterdam - he is presently responsible for the bank's economic forecasts for the major industrialised countries, in support of all commercial activities of the Merchant Bank.
