Nigel Lowry is Athens correspondent for Lloyd's List, the shipping information provider. His remit for Lloyd's List includes directing the annual Lloyd's List Greek Shipping Awards, a major event in the maritime calendar. In the past he held senior editorial positions with the Greek Business Review, Naftiliaki magazine and Newsfront, the Greek Shipping Intelligence newsletter, as well as The Athenian magazine.

Nigel wrote the book Onassis and his Legacy, published by the Onassis Foundation in 2003, reprinted from a serialisation in Lloyd's List.

He has participated in numerous maritime industry events and broadcast programmes as chairman, moderator or guest speaker.

Nigel is also founder and director of the Greek Shipping Hall of Fame.
