Patrick McCaffery joined Maersk Line, Limited in 2012, and he has served as the General Counsel since 2014.

Upon graduation from college, Patrick received a commission in the U.S. Navy, and served as a naval flight officer with duty stations in Jacksonville, Florida and Washington, D.C. Patrick began taking law school classes at night while still on active duty.

Upon graduation from law school, and prior to joining Maersk Line, Limited, Patrick held a number of legal positions. He was an attorney-advisor for the U.S. Army as well as the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA). Prior to his government service, Patrick was an associate at the law firm of Covington & Burling in Washington, D.C.

Patrick is originally from New York. He graduated in 1989 from Villanova University, magna cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa, with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics. He received his law degree, magna cum laude, Order of the Coif, from Georgetown University Law Center in 2001.
