Michael Arghyrou is Chairman of Greece's Council of Economic Advisors. He has held several academic positions, and is currently a Professor of Economics at the University of Piraeus. He is the author of numerous research research publications in the field of economics.

Mr Arghyrou obtained a Master of Science degree in Economics and a PhD in Economics from Queen Mary College,University of London.
