Jean-François Belzile Harbour Master and Director of Marine Operations Montréal Port Authority Mr. Jean-François Belzile has been active in the maritime industry for more than 30 years. He sailed in different positions for several years as navigating officer and started working ashore in 2000 where he acquired extensive port operation’s experience as superintendent and planner on intermodal marine terminals. He has also held the role of Director of Marine Operations at the Shipping Federation of Canada before joining the Montreal Port Authority (MPA) team in November 2015 as Harbour Master and Director of Marine Operations. Holder of a marine navigation diploma from the Institut maritime du Québec (IMQ) and a marine transport certificate from Concordia University, Mr. Belzile is a member of the Standing Committee for Safe Navigation on the Saint-Lawrence River, member of the Hydrographic Works Committee of the Canadian Hydrographic Services. He is also the Canadian representative of the PIANC Maritime Commission and co-chair of the Canadian Coast Guard e-Navigation subcommittee of the Quebec region.
