Luis Benito
Customer Success Executive Partner, Japan
 
Luis is a Strategic Business Partner for maritime industry customers, and he based at Tokyo, Japan, since November 2022. In this role, Luis is currently the Executive Business Partner for Mitsui O.S.K. Lines Ltd. (MOL), Nippon Yusen Kabushiki Kaisha (NYK) and Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha Ltd. (K LINE). He works together with them to help them sustain their growth and economic success while generating growth for Lloyd’s Register (LR) in return.
A creative and visionary leader and experienced innovator and strategist, Luis is accountable for the creation of strategic management plans that support customers’ business success, by engaging in synergetic relationships, fostering partnerships and innovative initiatives that generate differentiated value for customers and business growth for LR. Luis is skilled at connecting technology, new business models and talent that meet customers’ commercial needs.
Previously, Luis was the Director of Innovation and Co-creation for LR since 2016, based at Southampton, UK. He led the creation of profitable innovative product and service solutions; he fostered entrepreneurial talent within the company, and business model innovation initiatives that generated differentiated value for customers. During this role, Luis supported customers and the industry in their transition towards sustainability in an increasingly digitised and network economy. He led the ideation, incubation, development and scaling up of technology-enabled digital solutions for asset operational performance, and for the assurance of autonomy and artificial intelligence. 
Prior to this, Luis led the creation of a new Marketing function for the Marine Division, focused on Strategic Marketing and New Product Development at global scale, based in Singapore and Southampton, UK. 
Luis’s comprehensive experience has been accumulated from his tenure at Korea with LR Marine Division, 2 years heading the Business Development, Marketing and Sales function, and 4 years heading the Korea Country Operations, delivering the required value to customers while managing LR Korea business and operational performance. 
Prior to this, Luis has undertaken a variety of local office management, project management and field survey roles at several locations within Spain (4 years) and Korea (8 years). 
Luis is a graduated Naval Architect and Marine Engineer from the Madrid Poli-technical University, Spain.
