Andrew Hampson joined Tufton in 2001, is Tufton’s Chief Executive Officer and a member of the investment and advisory committees for various of Tufton’s asset backed funds. Andrew joined Tufton initially to assist in the development of the corporate finance business and subsequently to build up Tufton’s position as a dedicated fund manager in the shipping asset space. Before joining Tufton, he worked at Theisen Securities, a private maritime corporate finance house, where he primarily focused on providing debt related advisory and arranging services to a variety of worldwide shipping companies and debt providers. Andrew began his career with Bank of America in 1978, where he graduated through the bank’s internal MBA level lending program and performed a variety of functions in the credit administration department and problem loan groups before becoming a credit and marketing officer in the bank’s European ship lending department in 1986.
