Shivas started with Maersk as a Cadet in 1998 and he rose to the rank of Master before leaving sea in 2009. He then joined Maersk Tankers Crewing in Singapore as Head of Crewing Operations and there after took over as the acting Crewing Director, where he spent 7 years as overall responsible for all crewing related functions for around 80 Tanker vessels. In 2016, he moved to BW Fleet Management as Senior Manager Manning & Head of Global Training with the responsibility for the Crewing Operations of Oil and Chemical tankers and the Global training activities covering entire BWFM fleet of Oil Tankers, Chemical Tankers, LPG Tankers, LNG carriers and FSRU’s. He is presently heading all Crewing related functions (Training, recruitment, operations, unions etc) for Hafnia which is a part of BW group.
