Dr. Dorota Lost-Sieminska Director of the Legal Affairs and External Relations Division International Maritime Organization (IMO) Dr. Dorota Lost-Sieminska is the Director of the Legal Affairs and External Relations Division at the International Maritime Organization, where she leads the activities of the Division on various complex and topical subjects of international maritime law and treaty law. She oversees the development of tools for the enhancement of the Organization's legal and external relations work. Dr. Lost-Sieminska also manages the depositary functions of the Organization, serves as the of Secretary to the IMO Legal Committee and provides first line support to the Secretary General in his capacity as the Secretary of the Council and the Assembly. Her duties also include leading the Organization's accreditation, events, functions, inter-agency and protocol-related activities; providing guidance and assistance to Governments, inter and non-governmental organizations and other stakeholders; managing the Organization's Outreach and Communication Services; managing the activities and continuous development of the Organization’s Maritime Knowledge Centre; ensuring collaboration with all Divisions of the IMO Secretariat and all external stakeholders engaged in the Organization’s legal and external relations work. Prior to joining IMO, Dr. Lost-Sieminska led the Polish delegation to the IMO Legal Committee and was a delegate to other IMO meetings. She also served as the Vice President of the HNS Diplomatic Conference and was a delegate to various UN and EU meetings. Dr. Lost-Sieminska holds Master of Laws and PhD in international maritime law from the University of Gdansk/Poland and Master of Laws from the IMO International Maritime Law Institute. She is also a barrister and a member of the Pomeranian BAR Association.
