Dorian LPG Management
Dimitris Orfanos is the Chief Operating Officer of Dorian LPG Management in Piraeus, the technical management unit of NYSE listed Dorian LPG. Dorian has been a traditional oil and LPG tanker owner/manager which completed a significant expansion in 2014-2016 with 19 new very large LPG vessels delivered within a span of less than 20 months.
The shore office in Piraeus grew accordingly, tripling its staff and undergoing progressive change at all levels while maintaining full commercial eligibility with all blue chip oil majors. Dimitris is especially focused on efficient operational policies, human resources management ashore and onboard and building close links with the fleet.
Dimitris is an ex-seafarer having come ashore in 2004 and has previously held the positions of Safety Officer and HSEQ Manager. He holds Master's and Postgraduate Diploma degrees in International Shipping Management from Plymouth University, UK. He is a member of the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers and has presented in various safety and shipmanagement focused forums and events.
