As Head of the Monetary Policy Strategy Division, Rasmus is involved in the formulation of
the ECB's monetary policy.
In addition, he is ECB mission chief for Greece. Rasmus joined the ECB in 2000 and has worked in various divisions of the Economics Department, dealing among others with global economic developments and EU country surveillance. He has been closely involved in work on non?euro area EU countries in the initial phases of the global financial crisis, subsequently moving on to work on euro area countries, especially those under financial assistance programmes. He was ECB mission chief for the Portuguese programme and ECB representative in the Economic Policy Committee in Brussels.
Before joining the ECB, Rasmus worked in the Economics Department at the Deutsche
Bundesbank. He holds a Ph.D. in Economics from Indiana University, USA.
