Stephens Inc. was founded in 1933 by W.R. Witt Stephens. His brother, Jack Stephens, joined the firm in 1946 and served as Chairman of the Board and CEO of Stephens Inc. from 1956 to 1986. Since 1986, Warren A. Stephens, Jack's son, has served as CEO of Stephens Inc. directing the firm's strategic expansion. In 2006, Warren Stephens acquired 100% of the outstanding stock of Stephens Inc.
