Brian Beem is Managing Director at AMCI Capital, the investment arm of the AMCI Group. AMCI is a privately held resources investment and trading company founded in 1986. AMCI manages natural resources assets across the globe, and also owns a number of trading companies with the coal, metals and shipping sectors.
Mr. Beem joined AMCI in 2006 to help establish the private equity investment business at AMCI. He helped lead the formation and management of two $800m private equity vehicles, AMCI Capital L.P. and AMCI Capital II L.P. Mr. Beem has served on the Board of Directors at a number of AMCI's portfolio companies around the globe.
Mr. Beem joined AMCI from First Reserve Corporation, one of the largest energy-focused private equity groups in the world. Prior to joining First Reserve, Mr. Beem worked in the investment banking division at Merrill Lynch in both the Leveraged Finance and Energy & Power groups.
Mr. Beem graduated with an AB, cum laude, in Politics from Princeton University. He has 3 children and lives in Greenwich, CT.
