Alessandro Barberis holds a degree with honors in Geological Sciences from the University of Milano; after being graduated he immediately joined Eni in 1992 (at that time Agip) as Junior Exploration Geoscientist and since then he has spent his 25+ years of career in the Eni Upstream Sector either in Italy and abroad (North Europe and North Africa).
In the last 14 years he has held managing positions in Exploration as well as in the Board of Directors of some Overseas and Italian companies.
In his most recent roles he was appointed Vice President Exploration South Europe, Central Asia, Far East and Pacific and Vice President Exploration Americas and North Europe.
From April 2016 he is Managing Director at Eni Cyprus Limited, a Company registered in Cyprus in 2013. Eni Cyprus holds, in the exclusive economic zone of the Republic of Cyprus, the exploration rights on 5 operated blocks and one not operated block.
