Richard is a non-executive director of Anglo-Eastern Univan Group and of Swire's Singapore-based China Navigation Company and is Chairman of Vanmar Shipping. He is also a governor of the University of Central Lancashire and a member of the Hong Kong advisory board of Stanford University's graduate school of business. He was recently appointed as Chairman of the Hong Kong Maritime Museum.
