Kostantinos Chatzitolios holds the current position of project development leader for Bureau Veritas Greece, Cyprus and Malta. In this position, he is responsible for developing and driving various technical and innovative projects in the maritime sector. Prior to this role, he has worked as business development manager at BV’s head office in Paris, managing the International Business development of container ships and dry bulk carriers. Through these roles, he has had an active participation in International shipping events and conferences and has written a number of technical papers concerning the structural integrity of cargo ships and their energy efficiency optimization. He also had the opportunity to represent BV in various joint industry projects.

Konstantinos joined BV in 2005 after obtaining an MSc in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens. Before moving to business development, he has worked as hull surveyor for BV’s plan approval office in Greece, where he has undertaken numerous studies dealing with hull and stability aspects of various cargo ships. Konstantinos also spend several years as ship surveyor and Marine Management Systems’ auditor at the ships in service department of BV Greece where he acquired on board technical experience for all types of cargo ships and passenger vessels.

Since 2010, Konstantinos holds also an MBA in Fi nancial Engineering from the Athens University of Economics & Business.
