After graduating from Oxford University, Simon has spent over 25 years in the international shipping industry. Following short spells with the General Council of British Shipping and the International Support Vessel Owners' Association, he has had various positions within the International Chamber of Shipping and its sister employers' organisation, the International Shipping Federation, representing the global industry at bodies such as the UN International Maritime Organization and International Labour Organization. As Deputy Secretary General, he is currently responsible inter alia for the development and representation of shipping industry policy by ICS.
