Erik Hånell

Stena Bulk AB

Erik Hånell is the President and CEO of Stena Bulk AB, one of the world's leading tanker shipping companies; a position he has held since 2012.

Mr. Hånell has been a part of Stena Bulk AB for the last 21 years of his career. He was appointed to his previous role at the company in 2010, when he led the creation of Stena Weco, a joint venture between Stena Bulk and Dannebrog, that was fully merged into Stena Bulk by 2017. Prior to this, Mr. Hånell was appointed as Executive Vice President & Head of Stena Bulk USA in 2009.

Mr. Hånell joined Stena Bulk AB back in 1999 and served initially on the Commercial Operation side of the company in Gothenburg. After moving to the Commercial Operation department in Stena Bulk's office in Houston in 2001, where he shortly thereafter became responsible for Commercial Operations Globally, Mr. Hånell became responsible for building up many of the founding elements of Stena Sonangol Suezmax Pool when it was created in 2005.

By the time that Mr. Hånell joined Stena Bulk, he already accumulated 10 years of career at sea.
