Pierre Lafourcade is an Executive Director at UBS Securities LLC, based in New York. He joined the Global Economics team in September 2016.
Prior to joining, Pierre spent many years as a researcher and policymaker at various leading central banks. He started his career in 2002 as an economist at the Federal Reserve Board in Washington DC, working in the team producing the staff forecasts and briefings to the Board. He then moved in 2006 to the monetary policy and research division of the Dutch Central Bank in Amsterdam before being called up by the European Central Bank in 2014-15 to head several research projects. He took a sabbatical in 2015-16 to watch over his three children during his wife's fellowship at Harvard.
Pierre is an alumnus of the HEC School of Management in Paris, and obtained his PhD from Cambridge University in 2002. Before undertaking his graduate work, Pierre was a junior equity analyst at Credit Suisse First Boston in London and a development project evaluator in Mali.
