Joe Raia
Managing Director, CME Group
Joe Raia has over 27 years of professional experience in the Energy, Financial Services and Transportation Sectors. A 1979 Graduate of the New York Maritime Academy, Joe sailed in the U.S. Merchant Marines, and worked in various positions in the Oil Transportation and Trading sectors until June of 2000.
From that point Joe was employed in the Financial Services Sector as Senior Vice President of Business Development and Senior On Air Energy Analyst/Anchor for JAGfn, a live Financial News Show. Since 2001 Joe has been employed as a Marketing Director and prior to the merger with the CME Group, as Senior Vice President and Head of Global Marketing at the New York Mercantile Exchange, using his extensive background and experience in the energy and trading sectors to develop and head up the launch of the Exchanges' ClearPort program. The ClearPort Clearing program was awarded the 2004 Energy Innovation Product of the Year by EnergyRisk Magazine. Since the CME merger in late 2008 Joe has been appointed Managing Director, Head of Energy and Metals for the CME Group continuing the growth of the Exchange's product portfolio worldwide.
Joe is married, with three children and lives with his wife Eileen in Chatham NJ.
