"Shipping Derivatives" Forum organized by Capital Link in cooperation with the Baltic Exchange aims to provide the investment and shipping community with a comprehensive review on the development, utilization and outlook of the Forward Freight Agreements (FFAs). Also, to enhance the information flow on how freight markets and future markets are linked and to increase the overall awareness about shipping as an industry to a wide audience of investors.
Given the market uncertainty and volatility, FFAs are being increasingly used by shipping companies, traders, bankers and investors for a variety of reasons such as risk management, hedging and trading.
The Shipping Derivatives Forum will provide an up-to-date review on the development, utilization and outlook of (FFAs) for the dry bulk and tanker markets as well as on the legal and accounting complexities arising from the use of FFAs.
Each of the dry bulk and tanker panels aims to provide the point of view of different market participants who utilize FFAs for their own objectives. Each panel will consist of an FFA broker, an investor, a trader and a shipping company.
The Forum's target audience includes hedge fund managers, institutional investors and analysts, bankers, financial advisors, financial media and other qualified investors.
The event will be open to the whole buy and sell side brokerage community.
