Wilke Briese took over the management with CFO Frank Dreyer in 2017 from his father who founded the family-owned company in 1984. Briese Schiffahrt together with their financing partners own a fleet of 120 MPP and Heavy Lift vessels. Briese's operating arm BBC Chartering has become a major global carrier in this sector. Wilke studied Naval Architecture and Software Engineering at TU Berlin and University of Michigan and started his career with Bernhard Schulte in Hamburg before moving to Brieses' headquarter in Leer in 2009. He has a daughter and two sons.
