Capital Link's 14th Annual New York Maritime Forum will take place on Wednesday, September 21, 2022 at the Metropolitan Club in New York City.

The event is held in partnership with DNB, and in cooperation with Nasdaq, NYSE, and the Port Authority of NY/NJ.

The New York Maritime Forum (NYMF) is both an investment and an industry conference with a double objective:

• To provide an interactive platform for investors, financiers, cargo owners and shipowners to discuss the latest developments in the global shipping, energy and commodity markets, as well as in the financial and capital markets. Also, to address critical topics of the industry such as regulation, technology, innovation and more.
• To showcase and promote the role of New York as a hub for the global maritime community and attract more business to New York targeting a global industry audience.
  
  

In parallel to the main sessions, where shipping company CEOs from all over the world will be discussing their sectors’ developments and outlook addressing mainly an investor audience, the agenda program sessions will be focusing on specific topics such as bank finance, equity and fixed income capital raising, M&A and consolidation, maritime finance and law, securities law, New York as operational center for shipping companies, as well the role of the Port of New York and New Jersey as a logistics hub for shipping and cargoes.

This one-day conference, known for its rich informational content and the extensive marketing, networking and business development opportunities.

Karrie Trauth
Senior Vice President and Global Head of Shipping & Maritime
Shell International Trading and Shipping Company Limited

Since 1st August 2021, Karrie has been responsible for Shell’s international shipping and maritime activities, including ships, barges, drilling units, floating production facilities and related operations. Her work spans Shell’s entire business across upstream, downstream, projects and construction. She is a leading spokesperson on safety and the environment, improving the efficiency of shipping and maritime operations, and driving technology and innovation, including digitalisation and decarbonisation.

A Shell cargo is loaded or discharged somewhere in the world every 5 minutes. The 2,000 floating assets comprise some of the most technically advanced on the oceans today and includes the largest LNG shipping fleet in the world with 20% of the global tonnage.

Karrie joined Shell in 2012, initially as a project manager in Houston, followed by roles in London as manager and General Manager of Shell’s Shipping & Maritime Technology and Innovation group globally before assuming her last position as GM Shipping & Maritime Americas.

Karrie began her career as a Surface Warfare Officer in the US Navy, serving as one of the first group of women assigned in combat ships. After completing her naval service, she joined Avondale Shipyard in New Orleans as the Engineering Manager for R&D, beginning a career in ship design and construction and ultimately had responsibility for running a shipyard, delivering for the US Navy Zumwalt class destroyers.

Karrie has been honored by both the UK Everywoman program and the Society of Women Engineers for her efforts to increase gender balance in STEM fields and her contributions to technology, innovation, and design.

Karrie is an Advisory Council Member of American Bureau of Shipping and Chair of the Blue Sky Maritime Coalition. She also is on the Steering Members Committee of the UKP&I Club and is a Supervisory Board member at the UK Chamber of Shipping and also Co-Chair of their Shipping Defence Advisory Committee. She is a former Director of the Greater Houston Port Bureau and SIGTTO.

Born in the US, Karrie holds Bachelors and Masters engineering degrees from MIT, and an MBA from Georgetown University. She is married to Angela and lives in London.
