Christian von Oldershausen, responsible for Business Development of the Region West Europe & Africa at DNV GL, formerly Chief Commercial Officer Germanischer Lloyd, looks back to an intensive and diversified involvement in the international maritime industry over a period of more than 35 years. He gained his management and project development experience through such positions as a strategy advisor and asset manager for the shipping industry, as CEO of a shipping and marine services group active in the Tanker and Offshore Business, as Managing Director in charge for the shipping activities of a leading equity and finance syndicator for shipping investments, and as the head of the shipbuilding activities of a large German Industrial Group which included overseas postings.
He holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering of the Helmut Schmidt University of the Federal German Armed Forces, Hamburg and participated in a Post-Graduate program in International Business from the University of Houston. Christian started his professional career in the German Navy sailing on destroyers and frigates as a Marine Engineering Officer for nearly seven years.
