After graduating from his degree in Naval Architecture (Marine Technology) from the University of Newcastle upon Tyne, he joined Det Norske Veritas.
He worked for 10 years in DNV undertaking class hull, machinery and statutory surveys, management system audits (ISM, SEP, ISMA, ISPS, ISO 9001/14001).
During his 12 years with DNV he was based in London, Piraeus - Greece and as Station Manager in Limassol - Cyprus.
Thereafter he moved to a modern VLCC operator and worked there in a management and commercial operation role out of Athens and Hamburg.
In 2013 he joined the Angelicoussis Group, establishing a number of corporate departments/functions and in September 2015 he took over as Managing Director of Maran Tankers.
