John F. Imhof Jr. is a Partner in the Maritime and Transportation Finance Group of Seward & Kissel LLP, a leading law firm in the area of maritime finance and investment.

John has more than 25 years of experience as a transportation finance lawyer and represents leading private equity funds, hedge funds, banks and ship owners in connection with a variety of shipping finance and investment transactions, including joint ventures, equity investments, note offerings, syndicated pre- and post-delivery term loan facilities, loan portfolio acquisitions, sale-leaseback transactions and restructurings.

Before receiving his legal training, John worked at a major bank, where his principal responsibilities included the structuring of commercial loan workouts for the bank's institutional asset recovery department. John has a Bachelor of Science degree from Duke University and graduated cum laude with a law degree from Syracuse University College of Law.
