Founded Fund Consultants LLC in 2008 to provide unique specialist consultancy services to investment banks, fund managers, Boards of Directors, and legal and accounting firms on a wide range of issues ranging from performance evaluation and risk measurement to trading. origination, restructuring, and market positioning.

Founded Fundamental Data Ltd ("FDL") in early 1998 and was its Research Director until its sale in October 2008 to Morningstar Inc. FDL is the world's largest online research database on global closed end funds ("CEF") and Exchange Traded Funds ("ETF") and is now the "Traded Funds" unit of Morningstar Inc.

In 1997 founded and became co-head of the Closed-End Funds Unit at WestLB (Panmure Gordon), a dedicated team of 15 professionals covering research, sales, trading, and corporate finance for CEF's .

Moved with his research team to SG Warburg (now UBS) in 1990 as Head of Closed-end Funds research. At that time, Warburg had the largest CEF team in the world consisting of more than 35 professionals in trading, sales, research, origination and corporate finance of CEF's.

At Warburg engineered the world's first online real-time global closed end funds research and analysis system which eventually became Fundamental Data.

In 1987 became head of Investment Trust research at BZW (Barclays de Zoete Wedd, part of Barclays Bank). Pioneered the industry's first on-line real time database of UK Investment Trusts derivatives (split capitals and warrants)

Joined Lehman Brothers ( L Messel & Co) in 1985 on the London equity trading and risk arbitrage desk.

Joined the Financial Services Consulting Group of PriceWaterhouse Coopers in London in 1984.

Qualified as a certified public accountant with Ernst & Young in 1980 before moving to the Financial Services Consulting Group in New York in 1981

Graduated with BS in Accounting (1978) and MS (Honours) (1980) in Business Administration from the Pennsylvania State University.

Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (USA) in 1956.
